Guam's Best Hotel Resorts

Are you planning a vacation to Guam? The small island has several hotels to choose from, so I've outlined my favorites to assist you on your first visit.

Most hotels on Guam are found on the main tourist strip, which is in Tumon, either overlooking the beach or just steps from the water. Tumon is also the entertainment destination with restaurants, shopping, shows, bars, clubs and lots of Karaoke! You'll also find boutique shopping (Gucci, Chanel, and more) and souvenir shopping up and down the strip, as well as, restaurants such as  the famous Planet Hollywood and Hard Rock Cafe, and smaller cafes and restaurants.

The Outrigger Guam Resort is located right at the heart of this entertainment hub and adjoins The Plaza shops. Entertainment within steps of the hotel is not The Outrigger's only best feature. The hotel is luxurious and inviting, perfect for couples and honeymooners.  Every room has an ocean view! Couples will enjoy the beachfront property with a variety of beach activities, views of the fantastic ocean, the renowned Mandara Spa and delicious meals from their restaurants such as Palm Cafe.

The Westin Resort is located in the heart of Pleasure Island in Tumon, the island's popular entertainment sector. As with every Westin Hotel, the beds are 'heavenly' and the rooms are gorgeously appointed.  Enjoy this resort's beautiful sandy beach where you can go kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, jetskiing and more. Kids can enjoy a variety of supervised activities while parents relax by one of two pools.

The Hyatt Regency Guam is one of my favorite resorts, and my honeymoon hotel almost 15 years ago. Perfect for couples and families with children, this resort has so many great features. Children and adults will love the few water slides around the pools, enjoy a game of water volleyball or float along the river pool. When you're not enjoying the pool, step onto the beach and enjoy a variety of water activities and watch the sun set. This great getaway has the most amazing Japanese buffet - Niji Restaurant - featuring all-you-can-eat, world-class teppanyaki, sushi, and other favorite dishes. One of my favorite Italian restaurants is also found in this hotel - Al Dente. For lunches at the pool and beach, enjoy Breezes, which also hosts island entertainment. For a great all-day international buffet, La Mirenda is popular! At the Hyatt, you'll find everything you need!

For more water fun, visit or stay at The Pacific Islands Club, also located on the Tumon strip. This tropical paradise is fun for kids and adults, featuring its premiere water park with lush landscaping, waterfalls, kayaking river, water slides, beach and ocean activities, swim-through aquarium, water zoo, mini golf and so much more. Take a nap in a hammock under a palm tree. Tan by one of the quieter pools. The hotel also has casual and gourmet dining (my favorite is Bistro with its Lobster Fettuccine), and a fantastic island show with fire, water and Polynesian dance. This resort is not to be missed!

Another favorite is the long-standing Hilton Guam Resort and Spa, one of the largest hotels on Guam. With beautifully appointed rooms and balconies overlooking the garden or ocean, this hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the beautiful ocean and Tumon Bay. A perfect place for couples and honeymooners, the Hilton has a private wedding chapel on a cliff overlooking the beautiful ocean. You'll find pools, easy access to the beach and a variety of water activities. The hotel, as with most on the island, has an amazing choice of restaurants. Roy's, known worldwide for its Asian fusion dishes, is located here. Sunday brunch at the Islander Terrace and live music at Tree Bar should be a part of your visit to the island when you're not trekking.

Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort is another outstanding hotel. With its own private grounds and view on Oka Point, this beautiful hotel is the perfect getaway for couples, newlyweds and those on the way to the altar. This 5-star resort is gorgeously appointed with soft lighting and music, a lush and spacious atrium, large infinity pool and breathtaking view of the Philippine Sea and Pacific Ocean. This hotel, formerly the Palace Hotel, is newly designed and luxuriously modern. The Atrio Bar is one of the premiere entertainment venues with live music and dancing. La Cascata is a favorite for international buffet dining. After dining, stroll the beautiful grounds and enjoy the breezes and beautiful sunset.  This hotel is absolutely one of my favorites to visit.

Budget Friendly Cabo San Lucas Resorts

Cabo San Lucas is popular city in Mexico's Baja California Sur. It is a varied destination which confines the true essence of Baja Peninsula through its various resorts, world class restaurants, championship golf courses and fascinating outdoor activities.

The city prides itself as a hub for cruise ships, sports fishermen, water sport aficionados, nightlife seekers and sport fishermen. Cabo has 3 districts. This includes The Corridor, San Jose del Cabo and Can San Lucas. The Corridor pertains to the highway connecting Cabo San Lucas and San Jose. Scuba diving is a favorite activity in Cabo, especially for those who rarely see the sand fall under the water. For a more relaxing scene, there's Lover's Beach and a lot of romantic restaurants to go to afterwards. The cost for this activity ranges from $150 to $230 US.

A visit to the Cabo San Lucas Glass Factory will surely make your vacation worthwhile. It's a nice place for the whole family to see an actual centuries-old art - Glass Blowing.

Seven Crown Hotel - This hotel is nestled between a liquor store, strip club and a gas station. Adjacent to it is a hospital. Cabo Inn - This is a clean, charming and Bohemian-style hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Amenities include a small rooftop pool, communal kitchen and BBQ area. The marina, beach and several drinking establishments are close by. They also have open air "palapas" with a private Jacuzzi. The Bahamas is home to several resorts, a few of which also have the so-called "all-inclusive" vacations.
Before going into the resorts themselves I think the term "all-inclusive" should be defined because most people think this means one thing, when in reality it means something else all together.
All-inclusive is a term to mean that three major meals and some soft-drinks during the day, are included in the hotel charge. It does NOT automatically mean that everything there is to do at the resort is free of charge (though some things are).
European is a term to describe hotels where you are paying for the hotel room, but drinks and meals are extra. It does NOT automatically mean that other amenities/ "things to do" will also come with a charge.
DO NOT make the mistake of automatically assuming that one of the above is automatically going to be less expensive or have more things to do than a hotel/resort that operates under a different one.
There are numerous pros and cons, and VAST differences from one hotel/resort to the next.

Atlantis Paradise Island
*European Plan* The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas hardly needs an introduction. With its 2,300+ guest rooms divided amongst 3 tower sections, this 4 star, family friendly resort offers more to do than many major theme parks.
This is one of the most popular destinations for first-timers to the Bahamas for a very good reason.
However, due to its size, you can't really "get away" at this resort.
Breezes Bahamas
*All Inclusive* Here, beside the crystal clear waters, you can listen to the gentle call of the sea bird and feel your worries drift away with the tide. At night, a short stroll along the beach takes you to the excitement of Nassau's glittering casino.
This is one of the few resorts where "all-inclusive" almost really does mean that. Food and drinks whenever you want them are included and there is A LOT to do right here in the resort. Somehow, this resort does a FANTASTIC job of never seeming crowed or over busy.
While there isn't as much to do as at the Atlantis, this may be one of my favorite resorts for a short getaway.
Comfort Suites Paradise Island
*European Plan* Comfort Suites Paradise Island Bahamas is located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas adjacent to the Atlantis Resort. 5 minutes from Paradise Island International Airport. 10 minutes from downtown Nassau.
If you're on a budget, and money is tight but you still want a vacation in the Bahamas, this "resort" is the ticket. While it is little more than a glorified hotel with virtually zero on-site amenities, the price of this one is right. Further, it is close to just about everything and they do an admirable job of keeping the feeling still up-scale enough to make it a worthy vacation destination.
Nassau Beach Hotel
*European Plan* A 3 star budget hotel located amidst the hustle and bustle of the other Cable Beach facilities, Nassau Beach Hotel owns 750 feet of beachfront property and offers complimentary watersports to guests, who can also sign up to take advantage of the amenities of its companion hotels the Wyndham Nassau Resort and Crystal Palace Casino, which it neighbors.
This is another hotel for the budget conscious, and many people prefer this hotel over the Comfort Suites thanks to the fact that this hotel is RIGHT on the beach. I will say that I'm partial to the Comfort Suites, but if you're going to the Bahamas to spend most of your time relaxing on the beach then this is the hotel for you.
Pelican Bay
*European Plan* Nestled at water's edge, the 90-room Pelican Bay at Lucaya is a Caribbean hotel with a distinct European architecture and a spectacular location on Lucaya Bay. For our more discerning guests, we offer The Pelican Bay Suites.
When it comes to the budget 3 star resorts, those Paradise that are in Iceland or even the city of Nassau, are usually just a bit 'better in my opinion. This is a huge exception. Part of its charm is that it is located on the main island, where almost every newcomer goes to the Bahamas. It is well maintained, and in expensive, thanks to Grand Bahama Island is not as crowded. The hotel is well maintained, and one of my personal favorites for the short trip, if I'm not spendingmuch.
RIU Paradise Island
*All Inclusive* Located right next door to the expansive Atlantis resort on Paradise Island, RIU offers an endless variety of activities for every traveler. Watersports on the fabulous beach, daily activities for adults six days a week, and nightly entertainment are offered.
Seriously, for the money, I don't think this one is worth it. I know lots of people however that absolutely love this resort ... I don't. It isn't that there's anything "wrong"; it's just that for the money you can do better.
Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa Quote or Book Online Here
*All Inclusive* Voted the Caribbean's Leading Resort, Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa is the ultimate getaway for travelers. Absolutely nothing compares to this Four Diamond All Inclusive resort. Nestled on Nassau's famed Cable Beach.
If you've got the money, this is THE location to go to (and honestly, if you're going to RIU you can probably afford this). Easily my single most favorite resort in the Bahamas PERIOD. If you're going to be taking a week or more in the Bahamas and can afford a little extra, then I highly recommend this over th much more crowded Atlatis.
Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach
*All Inclusive* Among the many amenities, the property offers two delicious restaurants, three bars, a disco, an invigorating activities program, a kid's club, and gymnasium. Often referred to as vacation paradise,
Some of the best golfing in the Bahamas can be had right here at this resort. I've only stayed once and it was pleasurable, but my time actually IN this hotel was quite brief so unfortunately I can't say any more about it.

*European Plan* This 3 star resort on the banks of Cable Beach features a Las Vegas style casino, a 75-yard swimming lagoon and 200 yards of private crystal sand beachfront. Along with its own amenities, guests staying at the Wyndham Nassau Resort can enjoy the comforts of its neighboring resort, the Nassau Beach Hotel.
Little more than a glorified Wyndham you can stay in anywhere else in the states. Its one saving grace is some fantastic activities for kids.
The bottom line:
I do want to point out a couple of things real quick. First, there are other smaller hotels that are in quite a large number of ways BETTER than these that you can stay in for less money. There are also cabins on the beach to stay in the game (think small Beach Cottage) for about the same price as some of the stations can be expensive.
If you do not very often in the Bahamas, then these hotels are popular places to stay and in any case the place, and what you should decide the budget and planned activities to be determined.
If you have enough money for your vacation, and if not often in the Bahamas, then Atlantis, Sandals Royal are placesMost of the recommendations.
If you plan a budget and spend in the city of the Bahamas, then to the Comfort Suites was.
If you're on a budget and plan to spend more time on the beach, the Nassau Beach Hotel is for you.
However, if we come to the Bahamas for more than three or four times and want to stay away from the Paradise fire, then to Pelican Bay (no matter what your budget).
These are my suggestions anyway.
